Best Pinterest Marketing Strategies in 2022

InfluencerBrand4/22/2022

Most of us remember Pinterest as a “virtual bulletin board” where we could keep track of our favorite recipes, outfits that inspired us, travel hacks we wanted to remember and so much more. While it still exists for these purposes, Pinterest is a powerful tool that when used correctly, it can drive thousands of visitors to your site.

Sure, it’s lumped into all the other social media platforms, such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, but it’s actually a search engine and works especially great for evergreen content. Knowing this, let’s dive into the best marketing strategies for Pinterest in 2022.

Pinterest Marketing Strategies for 2022

  1. Use new content

Pinterest used to thrive on repins. Your account would grow if you were consistently repinning pins, but now, they’re looking for new new new. This means something that has never been on Pinterest before; you are free to pin from other platforms and reuse that content multiple times, just make sure to use new covers.

  1. Create idea pins

I’m sure you’ve gathered by now that video is the name of the game in 2022 and that’s the truth, even for Pinterest. Idea pins are a multi-video format and allow pinners to create up to 20 story frames to explain a concept. Same as above though - make sure it is unique to the platform!

  1. Stop re-pinning your pin to all your boards

We might all be guilty of this one. Pinterest wants quality over quantity these days, so stop repinning that same pin to all twenty of your boards!

  1. Focus on quality over quantity

Gone are the days you needed to schedule out 50-100 pins per day. 25 pins per day should be your max, but another great tactic is to focus on creating a handful of new pins each day. At least you can breathe a sigh of relief that you don’t have to spend hours each week on Pinterest scheduling hundreds of pins!

  1. Pin more of your own content than someone else’s

Try to avoid pinning content from a lot of other creators, but if you can’t, keep it to a minimum. This is great news for all creators constantly creating on other platforms. Utilize your creations and get to pinning!
