Influencer marketing can be an incredibly powerful marketing channel for any brand, and it’s no surprise that Amazon has built an entire part of their ecommerce clothing division around working with social media influencers to create product and clothing lines.
The power of influencer marketing is the community of people that stand behind an influencer. When social media influencers like Caralyn Mirand, create trust with their followers and really build a community, their audience looks to them as a resource for what to buy, because they trust them.
With this in mind, with the assortment of influencer clothing lines that have launched to date, it is time for a new strategy for brands to work with top Instagram influencers to engage with their audience, which is why Amazon launched their Amazon the Drop shopping experience!
To start off, what is Amazon the Drop?
According to their team, “the Drop is a fun shopping experience from Amazon Fashion that gives customers access to limited-edition, street style inspired collections, designed by fashion influencers from around the world exclusively for Amazon customers. Each collection from The Drop is available for 30 hours only, with every piece made-on-demand for customers around the world to purchase via the Amazon App as well as desktop and mobile browser.”
When it comes to this kind of influencer collaboration, what makes the model of the drop so unique?
“Well consumers get inundated with new products every single day, by creating an experience that is urgent, it feels like there is this immediate need to buy something now, rather than wait 2 weeks to buy an item, and most likely forget about it,” says Julian, Blogist’s Co-Founder.
For any social media influencer or marketer, learning more about how businesses like Amazon, and other top Instagram influencers launch products is critical, which is why we wanted to share more about Caralyn’s story and what makes this collection so unique. Blogist: Why did you partner with Amazon the Drop for your first clothing collection?
CMK: The Drop’s collections are made-on-demand and only produced when a customer purchases to reduce waste. This collection was designed for even more body types, and Amazon Fashion is the perfect partner to collaborate with on breadth and relevant assortment. Designs were created to fit a wide range of ages, shapes and sizes, so you can find flattering styles that are comfortable to wear from day to night!
How does this line stand out from other influencer collections Amazon the Drop has done?
CMK: My collection will be the most inclusive yet, the first for The Drop to add sizes 2X and 3X. The size range of the entire collection is XXS-3X.
These designs were created to fit a wide range of ages, shapes and sizes, so everybody can easily find flattering and comfortable styles to wear season after season!
What was the inspiration behind the collection with Amazon the Drop?
CMK: My incredibly diverse and empowering female followers were my style inspiration in creating a collection that made them feel represented for all wearing occasions. My biggest goal was to create a collection that is accessible and versatile with pieces that you can wear both this summer and for seasons to come. It is really important for me to create flattering silhouettes that are comfortable to wear. For example, every style in the collection pairs perfectly with women’s everyday bras, so no one has to worry about searching for a strapless or adhesive bra to fit the silhouette. Each item is priced under $60!
